Description

Join the Holmdel Ski Club for six days at one of the world's best ski destinations for excellent snow conditions.  The three mountains in our trip are ranked the #1, #5, and #18 top ski resorts in the United States, as per Ski Magazine's 2011 resort rankings. (click the link to see which mountain received which ranking.)  In 2006 the Club went to Park City and the feedback was so positive that the Club is repeating the experience, including the same hotel (then known as the Radisson), with those same awesome home-baked cookies.  In response to the feedback, this time we plan to arrive in Park City early in the day instead of late at night. You might even have the opportunity to spend a few hours on the slopes the day of our arrival.

A survey of our Club members showed a preference for The Canyons, with its huge 4,000 acres and the famous Ninety-Nine 90 mountain that is guaranteed to excite the most extreme powder hound.   The Canyons boasts 10% beginner, 44% intermediate and 46% expert terrain.   Park City Mountain Resort's 3,300 acres has terrain for all experience levels; 17% beginner, 52% intermediate and 31% expert terrain, including the Jupiter Mountain area for wide-open meadows, challenging steeps and big powder stashes.  Deer Valley is an experience not to be missed.  It's 2,000 acres are impeccably groomed and every service on the mountain is executed with precision. The resort is known for distinctive and exceptional customer service.  We defy anyone to dine at a Deer Valley restaurant and not be amazed at the quality and luxury.   It's not a secret that Deer Valley has been rated the #1 ski resort 4 years in a row by Ski Magazine.  Oh - and the skiing is great too.   27% beginner, 41% intermediate, 27% advanced, 5% expert.

The Park City Peaks Hotel was a crowd pleaser on our 2006 trip to Park City.   The Park City ski/town bus stops right outside the lobby, making for easy bus access to the 3 mountains, all of which are within 3 miles of our hotel.  There is a restaurant on the premises, a large bar/pub, multiple pools/hot-tubs, and friendly staff.  And did we mention the home-made chocolate chip cookies and cocoa that are delivered to your room around 5pm each day?  Access to the many restaurants around the Park City area is available by the town bus.   The guest rooms are well-equipped with two queen beds and a long list of amenities.

NOTES:

Contact the trip leader for special requests, such as available but limited single occupancy rooms.  Since snowboards are not allowed at Deer Valley, snowboarders must contact the trip leader to swap their Deer Valley ticket with either Park City or Canyons.  The trip without lift tickets is available for a reduction of $240.   Also note that the Club's Single Signup Rate policy has changed significantly for 2012.   If you are a single person signing up for one slot in a double occupancy room, then please be sure to read the Club's new Single Signup Rate policy

**All taxes that are currently in effect, including airline taxes, are included in the price.   The current fuel surcharge as of June 30 is also included in the price.  Please note any additional airline tax or fuel surcharge imposed before our final ticketing is beyond our control and will require an adjustment in the final price.   Any fuel surcharge imposed on our ground transfers is also beyond our control and will require an adjustment.

Key Dates Final Payment: Payment in full is due November 15, 2011.  Any additional amount due to airline tax or fuel surcharges will be collected in January.

Refund Policy See the HSC cancellation/refund policy.   - NOTE NEW POLICY FOR 2012

In order to protect your investment in this trip, the Holmdel Ski Club strongly recommends that you consider purchasing travel insurance. After certain dates we will be assessed penalties and not be able to recover all or any of your deposit or final payment. You could lose your entire deposit or entire total payment depending on the date of cancellation. But trip cancellation is not the only reason for considering travel insurance. A good policy will also cover you during the trip for items including emergency medical treatment and transportation, and lost, stolen or damaged baggage.

You can purchase a policy anytime prior to starting the trip, but additional benefits such as coverage of pre-existing conditions are available if you purchase within a certain time limit after you make the trip deposit to the Holmdel Ski Club. That time limit varies from 7 calendar days to 15 days depending on the company. So you should make a decision as soon as possible. You can compare the coverage and the cost of the various policies at http://www.insuremytrip.com. But you should compare the policies for your own situation and carefully read the description of coverage to see what is covered and what are valid reasons for cancellation. Not all policies are covered at that general website. You can go to the individual companies such as http://www.travelguard.com to see a full list of their products and purchase a policy directly from them.

If you do purchase insurance, the trip description should contain all the information needed except for the name of the tour operator, which is JP Tours Inc.

Please let the trip leader know if you have any questions about insurance. On nearly every trip we have at least one person who is forced to cancel for a very valid reason, but unfortunately may forfeit the entire payment for the trip.
